About me . . .

I came to Chinese Medicine, like so many others, because western medicine had nothing left to offer me but cortisone injections and surgery.

I was just 16 when my doctor told me to do anything I could to avoid surgery (at that time success rates for shoulder surgery specifically were somewhere around 50% or less) so I tried to be gentle with my shoulders for years and years, doing pretty well, until I got “frozen shoulder” while catering in my early 20’s.

My mom had been trying to talk me into acupuncture for years but I was afraid of needles and FINALLY pain won out so I went to see Robin… Robin seriously saved my shoulders! (Also the asthma I had developed after bronchitis around 18-19 was gone too!!)

I was just starting nursing school when I decided after that, I was going to be an acupuncturist!

I’ve made it my life’s work to help others as I’ve been helped!

I'm thankful for my very supportive family and my practitioner, Robin.

I love what I do and am so grateful I get to share it with others!

Chinese Medicine is...

Chinese Medicine is the oldest recorded medicine. It’s been documented for well over 3,000 years. Let that sink in for a minute…3,000 y e a r s ! !

The practice and medicine itself is even older than that by another couple thousand years!! Blows your mind right?? People ask if it works and I say the proof is in the thousands of years!! If it didn’t do anything, why would it still be here?

Chinese Medicine is the original functional medicine. Functional, individualized care is the medicine of the future and as it turns out, the medicine of the past. It takes into account all of the individual things that make you...you!

Chinese Medicine is very much a science based medicine. Sure it doesn’t use common western vernacular, it uses the nomenclature of “the day” so it sounds very different to what we’re used to hearing now, but that doesn’t make it any less effective.

It uses the body’s own physiologic ability to heal itself. Through needle, non-needle/manual therapy and food/herbal medicine/supplements, practitioners guide the body and tap into your own healing ability or essentially “bio hack” your body.

Yes, some ancient medicines might have gotten some things wrong but they also got so much right without the use of labs, imaging and all the modern technologies that we get to enjoy everyday (for the record I'm not anti WM, I love to bridge the gap between eastern and western). Prime example-leech therapy was considered an archaic modality but as it turns out, it helps like nothing else can when reattaching limbs! How amazing is that??
